Move In Information for Gannon/Goldsworthy Hall

Gannon/Goldsworthy Hall is considered a single residential community that encompasses both Gannon Hall and Goldsworthy Hall. Check-in for both halls are in the same location and directions are the same.

Enter the main back entrance to Gannon/Goldsworthy by the Southside Dining Center entrance and head up the Goldsworthy ramps to the Gannon/Goldsworthy Hall lobby; there will be signs telling you where to go. Check in with your CougarCard/photo ID at the front desk to get your room key.

Volunteers and carts will be available to assist you in unloading your car and moving belongings up to the room. We ask that you have someone begin unloading your car as your student checks in and receives their key.

Extra recycling containers are brought in specifically for move-in. Please pay attention to where you are disposing of garbage versus recycling.

Note: If you live on the first floor of Gannon, first floor of Goldsworthy, or second floor of Goldsworthy, we ask that you do not use the elevators to move-in, as there is ramp access to your floor. We are also requesting that elevators are only used to move heavy objects and carts to higher floors.

Bed Lofting and bunking tools and parts can be received from the Custodial Room 78 in the lower level of the Gannon/Goldsworthy Hall center building. Click here for a bed lofting instructional video.

For hanging items on your walls in Gannon/Goldsworthy, please use blue painters tape for posters, and 3M Command strips to hang pictures. If you use 3M Command strips, please do not remove the strips; our staff will remove them over the summer. Please do not use double-sided mounting products, permanent mounting products, blue mounting putty, tacks or push pins, masking tape, or duct tape.

Getting to Gannon/Goldsworthy Hall

When you arrive in Pullman make sure you enter the WSU campus from the south entrance of the University (from Main Street/270). Gannon-Goldsworthy only has an entrance on the south side of Stadium way so if you come in from the North you will have to find a way to U-Turn.

After you turn onto Stadium Way you will see the Stephenson Towers on your right and the Elson S. Floyd Cultural Center on your left. Drive through the first stop light and look for the sign that says "Gannon/Goldsworthy" on your right. Continue driving past two smaller driveways until you reach the third driveway right before the bridge.

There should be a parking attendant in an orange vest directing traffic. Turn right and drive down the hill to the small Green 3 parking lot. This lot is right in front of the main entrance to Southside Dining Center.

During move-in, Gannon/Goldsworthy Hall will designate active unloading zones on our basketball courts, lawns, and parking lot areas. Hall Staff will ask you for your name, room number, and a contact phone number. They will then put the information on the front of your car with your arrival time.

Note: If your vehicle is over 7' 8", please contact a staff member for an alternative parking plan.

Due to the large number of residents moving into Gannon/Goldsworthy Hall and the limited amount of parking spaces, all of the lots and parking spaces around the hall are reserved active unloading zones. We ask that all students and families park their cars in event parking during move-in or the large Red and Blue lots off of Forrest Way.

Red/Blue Lot Instructions

o Take a right out of the GG lot

o Take a right on to Grimes Way (first stop light)

o Take a right onto Olympia Ave

o Take a left on Forrest Dr. (four way stop sign)

o The Red/Blue lot will be on the right

Words of Wisdom from past students and parents

Rooms are smaller than you think. Spend some time looking at the photos and room dimensions and be realistic with what will fit.

Review what you can’t bring – the list is specific for each hall.
